A Webpage file is a saved copy of a page from the internet, stored on your computer as HTML markup. Browsers offer two ways to save one: as a complete page, which creates an HTML file plus a folder of images and stylesheets, or as a single-file archive that packs everything into one document. Saving a page lets you read it offline, keep a record of content that may later change or disappear, and archive research sources.
Double-click the file and it opens in your default browser, laid out much as it appeared online.
If images or styling are missing, the accompanying _files folder has probably been separated from the HTML — keep both in the same directory. Pages that depend on live data or scripts will not work fully offline. To preserve a page in a form that always looks the same and is easy to share, convert it with our Webpage to PDF tool. You can also convert the file with our HTML to PDF tool.

Word 97-2003 Document (DOC) is the original binary format of Microsoft Word, used as the default from the 1980s until Word 2007 replaced it with DOCX. A DOC file packs text, formatting, images, tables, and embedded objects into a single proprietary structure. Because that structure is binary rather than XML, DOC files are more prone to corruption, harder for other programs to interpret, and can carry macro-based malware.
Every current version of Microsoft Word still opens DOC files, usually in Compatibility Mode, and offers to convert them to the newer DOCX format.
LibreOffice Writer, Google Docs, and Apple Pages all handle DOC well. Since support for this legacy format is gradually being reduced, converting your archive is sensible — our DOC to DOCX and DOC to PDF tools do it in one step.
