PowerPoint 97-2003 Presentation (PPT) is the original binary format of Microsoft PowerPoint, the default from the late 1980s until PowerPoint 2007 introduced PPTX. A PPTX is a ZIP package of Office Open XML parts holding the slides, layouts, themes, animations, speaker notes, and embedded media.
