MPEG-1 Audio Layer 1 (MP1) is an earlier, simpler version of the MPEG audio standard. MP1 is mostly obsolete, but still supported. MP1 was part of the Digital Compact Cassette format. iPhone Audio is an M4A file encoded for Apple iPhone, containing AAC audio in an MPEG-4 container. AAC delivers noticeably better sound than MP3 at the same bitrate, which is why Apple adopted it as the default for the iTunes Store and for music on iOS. Choosing this preset produces a file the iPhone plays natively, with artwork and track tags intact.
