What is a Kodak RAW (DCS) file?

Kodak RAW is the general name for the raw image files written by Kodak digital cameras, saved with the .dcs extension on the professional Digital Camera System bodies. The file contains the full, unprocessed readout of the camera sensor plus EXIF metadata describing the camera, lens, and exposure. Nothing is compressed away, so a Kodak RAW retains far more highlight and shadow detail than a JPG taken at the same moment.

How to open a Kodak RAW file?

Transfer the file from the camera or memory card to your computer, then open it in a raw developer. Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and Adobe Camera Raw are the most widely used options.
