3GPP is a multimedia container format created for third-generation (3G) mobile networks, designed so that phones could record, send, and play video and audio over limited wireless bandwidth. It is a simplified version of the MP4 container and normally carries H.263 or H.264 video with AMR or AAC audio. The closely related 3G2 format serves CDMA2000 networks instead.
Most desktop players open 3GPP without extra software. VLC media player is the most dependable, and Apple QuickTime plays it on macOS.
On Windows, Windows Media Player may need a codec pack, so VLC is usually quicker. Android and iOS devices play 3GPP natively, since the format was built for mobile in the first place. Because the video quality is deliberately low, converting old clips with our 3GP to MP4 tool makes them far easier to edit and share.

PSP Video is an MP4 file encoded for Sony’s PlayStation Portable handheld console. It uses H.264 video with AAC audio at a low resolution suited to the PSP’s 480×272 screen, which keeps files small enough to fit comfortably on a Memory Stick while still looking sharp on the handheld.
Connect the PSP to a computer over USB, copy the file into the VIDEO folder on the Memory Stick, then select it under Video in the console’s XMB menu.
Older PSP firmware is strict about file naming and folder location, so if a clip does not appear, check that it sits in the correct folder and update the system software. On a computer the same MP4 plays in VLC media player, QuickTime, or Windows Media Player without any special handling. Our video converter can re-encode a clip for a different device or format.
